Basement
Remodel into Rec Room
This homeowner
dreamed of an adult playroom in his Cold Spring Harbor
basement. The wet bar near the stairs is located behind
the pool
table
room
and
next to a new bathroom with shower. The large beams were
boxed in and painted red. The stained glass window inset
into the wall near the bathroom door was a treasure from
a previous home. |

The homeowner cut a canoe in half, and
we installed it as shelves behind the bar.

This basement
also includes a bright and airy foyer entrance from the
garage, with a storage closet.

Basement
Conversion into playroom and media room
This Islip Terrace
basement was converted from a utility room space to a bright
finished
playroom space for small toddlers, with finished living
room space for adults. |

Opening up the stairwell space to
the main floor living area greatly increased the light
and usefulness of this basement space.

Conversion into living space
This Long Island south shore
basement has a playroom for children, as well as a one bedroom guest room complete with a full bathroom and living room space with egress window. |

In the before photo, the hole into the crawl space is shown to the left of the old water tank, and is now covered with a shelf insert that pulls out to allow access to the crawl space. The old cement slab is now being used as seating area (or a stage.) |

The egress windows were enlarged to meet code. |

Conversion: Storage space into Den with bathroom
This Saint James basement conversion changed a storage room into a den. |
This space got new walls, doors, floor and suspended ceiling. The ceiling duct and pipes were boxed in to conceal them. The bathroom (below) was added to the back right corner of the den, facing the new french doors.

New french doors were installed to allow light from the office space to enter the new den.

New walls, heat, drop ceiling and electric transform this space. The crawl space in this basement also has a pull out sleeve to allow access. |

This space is now divided into multiple rooms.
The new workout room has built in closets for the boiler and the water meter.
